The One Rule To Keep Growing And Learning

I’ve had a rule for myself that I have practiced for several years. The rule is to do one thing every year that I didn’t do the year before. Some examples of new things I have implemented over the years are my podcast, my future in 5 video series and my online courses.

Are You A Super Perpetual Learner?

The term, “perpetual learner” has been thrown around a lot recently and while it is important to learn how to learn in today’s fast pace of change, the concept is not something new. We have always had to adapt throughout history, but the difference is now we have to be Super Perpetual Learners.

What Is The History Of Your Organization?

I recently marveled in the famous, historical architecture of the Arc de Triomphe while in Paris. The city is full of history and that is a lot of what makes it a wonderful place. That really got me wondering how often organizations think about their history. There are many companies that are well over 100 years old… how many of those have retained the history of where they came from and their original values? Employees need to know the history of their organization to understand the challenges it has overcome and incorporate that into how they work. Instead, I want to propose a few non-conventional yet powerful approaches that employees can use to get ahead at work. […]

Is Your Organization Leveraging The Collective Wisdom Of It’s People?

In 1906, Sir Francis Galton was visiting a livestock fair, when he came across an interesting game. The fair goers were invited to guess an ox’s weight after it was slaughtered and dressed. Around 800 guesses were made. Sir Gulton, being intrigued by this game, he collected all of the guesses that were made, and analyzed them. He found that not one person had the correct guess, and the overall average guess was only one pound off from the real weight of this ox. This really shows how the collective intelligence from a large group of people is powerful. […]
