New Microsoft Ads Without Seinfeld are Much Better!

There was a lot of gossip around the web that the new ads with Seinfeld have been canceled, turns out that rumor was false and there has not yet been any cancellation of any kind.Β  Now having said that, Microsoft did release 3 new ads (a bit similar) which feature actual Microsoft employees and users, which is something I wrote that Microsoft should have done from the beginning.

Needles to say the new ads are much better and actually convey a message!

check them out below and let me know what you think.

so what did you think?

  1. Jacob, I'm really surprised Microsoft came up with http://imapc.lifewithoutwalls.com/ which seems to ba inspiration from your previous blog post on “What Microsoft Could Have Done With Their Advertising Budget” – Have users create their own ads and send them in. The ads can then all be showcased via a Microsoft micro-site, ads could be video, img, music, etc. Users will share their ads with friends, family, and colleagues.

Microsoft should credit you! Great job! πŸ˜‰

  2. Hate me all you want, I'm a die hard Microsoft fan. I’ve been watching Microsoft since the MS-DOS days and have seen it proclaimed dead many a time, and everytime it faced stiff competition I’ve seen Microsoft bounce back from the dead and steamroll it’s way through the competition, obliterating anyone in its path, big or small, be it Netscape or Sun Microsystems by offering better products.

We're on the verge of another turn around where Microsoft will kick ass. Can't wait.

BTW I'm not just saying this stuff now that Ads are working, I've a blog post to prove it πŸ˜‰

  3. haha i would love a little disclaimer after the ads with a note that says “all ad ideas came from jacob morgan,” but i dont think that will happen.

i wonder if they will indeed create a windows microsite devoted to their “a world without walls” campaign, could be interesting.

thanks for reading and commenting vinay!

  4. ive actually been using microsoft and pcs my whole life, but after living in sf for 7 months and getting an iphone, im starting to think about getting a mac. im very impressed with the ipdo/iphone thus far and if their laptops are any reflection of their other products, then it may be a good buy.

thanks for reading and commenting and rock on microsoft πŸ™‚

  5. i may be a mac lover in the not too distant future, i agree these ads are much better, feels like they actually server a purpose!
