Twitly is a brand new platform that allows existing twitter users to create groups.  It’s extremely easy to use and since twitter isn’t allowing a group feature, Twitly is.

First you just log in with your twitter user name and password

Once you are logged into the system you should be taken to your home page where you see a bunch of tweets.  On the right hand side you will see a place to create a new group, simply type in your group name and you’re all done.

Once you select the name of your group you can being adding your twitter followers, start typing in their name and twitly will immediately recognize who they are and allow you to add them.  Once you’re all done with creating your groups you just click on the group name to see those specific tweets.

Simple enough right?

Kudos to twitly for creating twitter groups.  Segmenting twitter users by groups has long been a feauture that the twittersphere has been demanding.  Personally, I’m not sure where twitter has been spending their 15-20 million of VC funding.
