Yesterday was the Real Estate Bar Camp in San Francisco at the Swedish American Hall. This was my first bar camp of any kind and I must say it was great. For those of you not familiar with a bar camp think of an ad hoc conference. People know to show up but the sessions and topics are picked right on the spot and whoever wants to lead a session may do so, anyone can be a speaker. Once the speakers are chose and the times are set up, the fun begings. Multiple sessions go on at the same time so you just pick what sessions you want to attend and then go. Here are the pics from the event:
“Why So Serious?” Mr. Chris Peri taking care of business
“5 Must have social networking tools for realtors”
This is what the schedule looked like, Andy Kafuman did an awesome job coordinating
Another shot of the schedule with a random finger and Andy Kaufman’s hand
“Stairway to heaven”
Random shot of folks talking
How can realtors use web 2.0 tools for training?
Panel discussion on guerilla markering tactics
Random discussions happening all over the place
Getting ready for another session
The aftermath
Overall the event was a great success. I found it very interesting to hear how folks in the real estate industry are using social media tools foster and build relationships. There were many interesting sessions and many interesting people. Thanks again for everyone who helped put Real Estate Bar Camp together. I’m definitely looking forward to my next bar camp, I actually like the crazy environment and ad hoc discussions, it feels more personal and it’s easier to connect with other people
