I am in Turkey for the next 2 weeks and will be covering my adventures, I will also still be covering tech/social media/etc. Just not as much!
So I tried to upload videos and pictures for some reason they are too large in size to upload, so what I may have to do is either upload everything when I get back to San Francisco, or spend some time doing it on my trip, either way I can’t do it now because the lack of sleep is making me delirious.
That being said I was having a conversation with some older folks who run businesses regarding technology and social media, but this concept also applies to life in general. We discussed timing and being too late to get involved in technology (or being late to learn/do something in life). My favorite quote for this came from the movie “Grumpy Old Men,” and it goes like this:
“There’s no such thing as too late, that’s why they invented death.”
You’re damn right there is no such thing as too late; that’s no way to live or to run a business; it’s a self defeatist attitude and people need to stop thinking like that. Some folks/businesses got involved with twitter and facebook before others, does that mean that there should be no new facebook or twitter users? Of course not, it just means that the early adopters have a little bit of a head start (and even then, it’s not really a competition). There are plenty of new and innovative ways for businsses and individuals to get involved with social media, you don’t always have to look at what everyone else is doing and there is no such thing as getting in the game “too late.”
This goes for everything and anything in life.
thanks for reading everyone (gonna pass out, seriously)

hey daniel, sorry it took me so long to respond. been tough to get wifi in turkey all the time. you make a very good point, perhaps now is the best time to get involved, however, the game changes quite often so just when we think we have a solid handle on something the ground falls from underneath our feet. at times it feels like a perpetual catch 22.
thanks for reading and commenting

For the record, that quote comes from “Out to Sea,” not “Grumpy Old Men.”
Easy mistake to make.
Thanks, just what I was looking for. Thanks so much…
