"Molesting" Vs "Seducing" Social Media Users

This is not meant to pick on Gary at all but it does speak to how the so called “web celebs” treat a lot of the social media users out there (especially on twitter).  Granted you obviously don’t have to listen to what anyone tells you, BUT when you are seen as a “celeb” or somewhat authority on social media you wield more power than the rest and most of the time people will listen to you.

These series of tweets should say it all.

Your thoughts?  Do you find that more people are “molesting” or “seducing” social media users?

  1. You probably wouldn't have said anything if a nobody like me said follow somebody right? Maybe we shouldn't treat people with lots of followers like 'celebs' 🙂

It's amusing that you say 'thanks for reading' then 'follow me on twitter' straight after. Isn't this all the same thing?

I say lets get on with the conversation.

  2. to be honest i wouldn't care who says it, i wouldn't follow someone just because i am told too, unless i am given a reason (a.k.a. this person is great for finding out about 'blank'/etc.) we shouldn't treat people lots of followers like celebs, i agree, but it is what it is and that is how they are treated.

the reason i put my twitter profile at the end of my posts is so that we can connect IF you feel like I can provide you with value. you read what i write, if you like my ideas, then i give you other ways for us to connect.

but yes, i agree, lets get on with the conversation!
