This week I’m excited to be heading to the Enterprise 2.0 conference in Boston. E2.0 originally started off as a conference focused on collaboration inside of organizations but has since expanded to also tackle topics such as big data, social CRM, unified communications, and mobile. It’s one of the few events where the people you meet at the conference are just as interesting and valuable as the sessions you attend. I’ll be there all day on Tuesday and Wednesday (leaving Wed. night) and look forward to seeing some old friends and meeting new people.
Conferences like E2.0 are important for the industry not just because of the educational content but because it brings together a large group of people from around the world who are all actively involved in making collaboration work. Since the space is relatively new, E2.0 leaves attendees feeling inspired, empowered, and supported. New ideas are thrown about, strategies are discussed, best practices and lessons learned are shared and of course there is a healthy dose of non-work and business related content as well. This year for example the UEFA Euro Cup (Soccer) is definitely going to be enjoyed by many while at the conference.
I’m particularly excited about the conference this year because I’m going to be premiering my book and officially announcing it to all 2,000 attendees. I’ve also teamed up with Traction Software who is going to have 200 advance copies of my upcoming book, The Collaborative Organization, available to those who stop by (booth #418). If you haven’t signed up yet you can use the code “E2CHESS” to save $600 off the on-site pricing or get a free expo pass.
I hope you can make it Boston for Enterprise 2.0 and if you’re going to be there make sure to let me know so I can some hello!
