Are You Happy?

I’m sitting here in my hotel room in Antalya, Turkey overlooking the city and just thought about how lucky I am and how thankful I am to be able to travel and see the world.  This really made me think about how far I have come over the years.  I busted my ass and I worked hard and at the end of the day I can say that I am happy.

What about you?  Think about your life, are you happy?  Were you happy at one point but now are not?  I’m a believer in doing what makes you happy and I always say “as long as it makes you happy then do it.”  I want to know if you are happy and why.  If you aren’t happy what will make you happy?  Is there anything I can do to help make you happy?

thanks for reading

  1. Well, the fact that you interact with a lowly 88 makes me very happy 😉

I've spent most of my life lacking confidence and more in the grey area – neither happy nor unhappy. Only this year have I started to believe in myself and am working hard to do what I really want to do and as a result am now very happy.

I would probably be happier if I were also in Turkey visiting the underground cities 🙂

I just wish I had figured it out earlier on in my life.

  2. hey kim. of course i would interact with all of my readers and the fact that you interact with me certainly makes me happy 🙂 i'm very glad to hear that you started believing in yourself, that is so important. everybody should believe in themselves, there is no reason not to, if you don't believe in yourself then why would anybody else?

You should come to turkey! just save a few thousand and block of 2 weeks. the experiences will change your life.

thanks for reading and commenting kim!

  3. I looked at the question from the perspective of someone, who just made a major life change, moved, finished a grad program, got a new job, etc. One thing that is funny to me now is that, prior to all this, I thought to myself, “When I'm all done and considering moving, getting a job, etc, I'll need this, this, and that or I won't even consider the opportunity.” But now, having done all that, I realize that I didn't get some of the things I wanted originally, but I did get an abundance of some of them. Luckily, the abundance is in areas that greatly contribute to my happiness. For example, I have a 6 minute commute, which is awesome. 🙂 Am I happy? Oh yeah, and it's making most every part of my life spectacular.

Gotta say though that I might be just a bit happier if I was traveling Turkey though. 😛

  4. my mom was making great money a few years ago while working as a program manager for AIG, she was miserable and wanted out. She decided to go back for her masters and is now pursuing a PHd. She is now a marriage and family therapist/hypnotherapist. I;ve never seen her so happy. It's tough to make a career change later in life, but sometimes you have to take a chance. if you go after something you are passionate about then you will be happy. it;s about the quality of life you live.

glad to hear that you;re happy, now you just need that trip to turkey!
