In this episode of the Future in Five I discuss the recent news about Zappos and the fact that hundreds of employees are leaving the 1500 person company as a result of its implementation of something called “holacracy.” For those of you who have not been following this story, when Zappos announced that they were going to redesign their management structure and implement holacracy, the CEO Tony Hsieh gave its employees what amounts to an incentive to leave by offering a three-month severance package to employees to leave they don’t like their new approach. I received a few emails and tweets asking me about my thoughts on this dramatic shift for Zappos, here are my thoughts. Tune in for the full discussion and tell me what you think!
