For the next week or so I’m going to be commuting between New York and Boston.  I’m in New York speaking at PRSA and at a client event.  I’ll be in Boston for E2.0 from the 15th-17th (of June).  I attended the E2.0 conference in San Francisco last year and loved it, this is my first time attending the Boston event and I hear it’s better than it’s counterpart on the West Coast.

The caliber of people that attend E2.0 in my opinion far surpass what most other conferences have to offer.  You won’t see any social media consultants at E2.0 because quite frankly they can’t really do what is required for Enterprises that are looking to beyond social media and into collaboration both internally and externally.  The E2.0 folks are dealing with real complex business challenges that they are looking to solve and chances are the conversations you have aren’t going to revolve around Facebook, Twitter, or blogging; as they frequently do with social media conferences.  If you really want to see the direction that social business is taking and how large organizations are actually solving business challenges with effective collaboration, then E2.0 is the conference you need to be attending.  I arrive in the late morning on the 15th and there are some great sessions I’m looking forward to such as:

  • The state of E2.0 – Andrew McAfee
  • Innovation through E2.0 – Gentry Underwood and Andrew McAfee
  • Enterprise 2.0 value propositions – Dennis Howlett and Oliver Marks
  • The inside-out organization: connecting to customers and market – Alistair Croll et al.
  • Strategically flexible – Dan Keldsen

There are plenty of other really great sessions going on as well not to mentioned some great after events such as the IBM boat party or the Wine party with Mindtouch.  Overall I’m really looking forward to meeting new people and meeting people I have known for a while online but have not yet had a chance to meet in person.

If you’re going to be at E2.0 and you want to get together let me know, hope to see you there!
