Cisco just completed a study on how to create the best teams so I’m here today with Francine Katsoudas, Senior Vice President and Chief People Officer of Cisco, to discuss the findings. The first tip to building high performing and effective teams is to focus on the individual strengths of each team member. Know what is special and unique about them, recognize how they work the best, and play on those strengths. Second, create an environment where every individual feels their values are shared. Your team will be more willing to put their thoughts forward in this environment. The last tip is to create a safe and trusting environment where every one feels like their teammates have their back. You can do this by following the first two tips! The best teams are formed in an environment where members feel valued and comfortable taking risks.
