I’m back with another Future in Five, this time from London where I’m keynoting an event for Gartner. Recently, I’ve noticed a huge disconnect between HR and IT teams which is causing a big mess within organizations. These teams are operating as separate, independent units when they need to say “I do” and get married! Why? We all know that HR deals with people, IT with tech. Since tech serves people in the workplace, the two are intertwined and it is time to start treating things that way. HR practitioners should be working closer with CIOs and IT teams to determine what technologies make the most sense in their organization. CIOs and IT teams need to begin looking beyond the features of technology to the needs of employees that will be using the technology.  So what do you think? Are you ready for HR and IT to form a strong partnership to prepare for the changing workplace?
